The Shearwater Venture is the largest of our range. Following the success of the original Shearwater 860’s we decided to add to the family and produce a larger sports cabin rib. The Venture offers more comfort, fresh styling and a greater cruising range without fuel stops. With ever rising fuel costs we felt it was important to design an efficient hull, built from lightweight materials so that the craft doesn't require huge horse power to push it along.


The slender bow and fine spray rails allow the hull to cut cleanly through the water in rougher conditions, the rails gradually increase in volume as they travel aft, giving extra lift under the engine and fuel tank where needed. The 24 degree hull aft gives a solid dependable ride. The hard bow adds yet more safety to offshore conditions, alleviating the risk of the tube bursting or being torn away if the nose stuffs through a large wave. Internally it houses a stainless windlass and ample fender storage. Just aft of the bow locker is a double aft-facing seat with storage locker. Coupled with the forward-facing console seat it makes a great social area. A central table option can be used. 


The newly designed cabin offers large volumes of storage and an electric Johnson toilet. The cabin can be used as a twin berth to simply duck out of the weather or enjoy refreshments round the optional central table. The cabin seating can be arranged into a generous double berth for weekends away.

The helm is fully protected with our wrap round console design. Behind this is a double bolster helm seat with teak wet bar, incorporating a stainless sink and cooler. 


Instrumentation and controls have been ergonomically designed and positioned on the console so they are always within a comfortable reach to both the driver and the co-driver. The stern area offers sumptuous semi-circular seating and sun bed, leading down to a generous swim platform with an easily stowed stainless ladder and a fresh water shower. A large stern anchor storage box is incorporated into the port side of the platform, making easy aft anchor deployment and stowage. This is common in many Mediterranean cruising areas for bow-to mooring.


The internal deck is well above water line so self-draining, and is not bilge pump dependent. This is a great advantage if the boat is marina-based as pumps will not drain the batteries. Engineering is our core business and we paid great attention to the engine installation. Each and every service part is easily accessible and in clear view through the quick checks hatch facilitating daily pre-use checks. Finishing inside the engine box is to the same high standard as the rest of the boat.

We offer a large choice of engine installations, with our recommended base package featuring the Mercury Diesel 4.2QSD 320HP upgradable to 350HP or further again to the VW350 TDI - all standard with flyby wire throttle and shift. We can also supply and fit Mercuiser petrol, Yanmar, Volvo Penta petrol and diesel engines. We offer many colour and finishing options allowing you to tailor the boat making it uniquely yours.
